Circulation Services
Circulation Services manages the circulation of library materials, processes library card applications, including resident, nonresident and Public Library Access Cards. Circulation Services processes fines for overdue items, lost and damaged materials and holds for customer pick up.

Guide to Using Interlibrary Loan
If you are unable to locate the information for which you are looking, please ask the reference librarian for help. If the Library does not have the information or title in the collection, you may want to consider using Interlibrary Loan.
We will attempt to borrow the material for you from another library. If the material is available, it should take an average of 2 weeks to arrive. Please understand that others may be using the material you requested, and you may have to wait longer than 2 weeks.
It is also possible that we may not be able to fill your request. We cannot request certain kinds of materials - videos, audio books, reference books, new books, and best-sellers. We cannot request entire copies of periodicals, but photocopies of specific articles may be available. Some full text of articles may be available via INSPIRE, a project of Indiana libraries. The lending period of materials obtained through Interlibrary Loan will vary, depending on the lending library. Interlibrary Loan materials may not be renewed. Your use of Interlibrary Loan may be revoked if you do not return materials on time.
If the lending library charges the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library for copies, shipping, or for the loan of materials, those charges will be passed along to the customer. You are given the option of specifying a maximum charge before the material is requested. If the customer chooses to pay no charges and the item is not available, without charge, the request may not be filled.
All fields are required.
If you have not signed an Interlibrary Loan Policy and Agreement Form since November 16, 2004, you will need to stop by the Teen/Adult Services desk and do so before an electronic or telephone request will be processed.
To register online for a Library Card, please complete and submit the following.
BRING identification with you when you next visit the Library.
- Indiana driver's license with current address
- OR
- Your driver's license with your previous address
- AND
-
- Identification that shows applicant's current residence or business property address, with applicant's name on the document. Examples include:
- Utility bill
- Bank statement
- Tax statement
- Rental agreement
- Home purchase agreement
Quick Guide: Where do I find?
The Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme for its non-fiction materials. This is a quick guide to locating materials. Children's materials use the same numbers preceded by J or ER. Materials in adult reference will use the same numbers preceded by REF while children's materials in reference will be preceded by J REF.
Looking for novels?
Fiction is arranged alphabetically by the author's last name. No numbers are used.
The short story collection is labeled with SC and is shelved at the end of the fiction collection in both Teen/Adult and Youth Services.
Biographies are shelved at the end of the non-fiction collection in both the Teen/Adult and Youth Services Departments.
As always, staff at the Reference Desks in Adult Services and Youth Services will be happy to help you in locating materials.
